Africa, which comprises of 52 cities with over a million inhabitants each, is an "opportunity in the future" that Morocco and Spain should explore, said Mezouar during a bilateral meeting held Tuesday in Madrid in the presence of hundreds of Spanish business representatives.

"Africa is not only a market to sell, but also to invest in," said the minister, stressing the enormous potential of Africa and the business opportunities presented by this market for Spanish and Moroccan investors.

On this occasion, Mezouar called for setting up Spanish-Moroccan partnerships to take advantage of the investment opportunities of the continent, regretting the "limited presence" of Spanish companies on the African market.

Organized by the Spanish Confederation of Entrepreneurial Organizations (CEOE), the meeting was attended by minister of industry, trade, investment and digital economy Moulay Hafid Elalamy.
