Eygpt: Political Impasse
Egypt's Supreme Constitutional Court said on Monday that all of its rulings were "binding," in response to a presidential decree by Mohamed Morsi, reinstating parliament after the court ruled the house invalid

It rejected a decree by President Mohamed Morsi to reinstate the parliament it ruled invalid, setting him on a collision course with the judiciary and the military which enforced the ruling.

"All the rulings and decisions of the Supreme Constitutional Court are final and not subject to appeal... and are binding for all state institutions," the court said in a statement.

Opinion is divided between those who think that the President exceeded his authority by issuing his decree  and those who feel tha SCAF failed to honour its promise to hand over its powers to the President. Those supporting the President feel that the Supreme Court and the judiciary have lost their independence and are engaging in politics.Egypt continues to be polarised.
