Rabat - Elections will be held on the set date and according to the agreed schedule, whether concerning professional, regional or communal elections, said on Thursday head of government Abdelilah Benkirane.

Morocco is a country that respects itself and its commitments, said Benkirane during the weekly cabinet meeting held mainly to examine and approve several organic laws.
The head of government noted that a series of decrees governing the upcoming regional and communal elections will be soon finalized, said communication minister, government spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi at a press briefing after the weekly meeting.
He underlined that the government had been working together with a government committee to monitor elections of majority and opposition parties.
He added that the cabinet will respect its commitments and refuses that another party replaces it to set the date of elections.
Benkirane said that, though there was a certain flexibility in the past to postpone elections from June to September, there will be no hesitation or revision of elections date this time.
