Egyptian Presidential election results delayed
The announcement of the results of the first presidential election in Egypt since the departure in February 2011 of former President Hosni Mubarak, originally scheduled for Thursday, was postponed to an unspecified date, said the official MENA news agency.

The agency said "the election commission, headed by Justice Farouk Sultan decided to postpone the announcement of the second round," on the June 16 and 17 between the last Prime Minister Hosni Mubarak, the retired General Ahmad Shafiq, the Muslim Brother Mohammed Morsi, who both claimed victory.
The electoral commission was considering appeals filed Wednesday by lawyers for both candidates about violations of rules governing the campaign and the vote count. He said in a statement that it "continued the hearing of appeals" and that the commission "needed more time before announcing the final results."
Egyptians await the results in a context of political tension, particularly between the Muslim Brotherhood and the army in power who has assigned itself broad powers.
A "complementary constitutional declaration " on Sunday promulgated by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which ruled the country for sixteen months, effectively gives the military broad powers, which greatly reduce the flexibility of the future president.
Former US President Jimmy Carter head of a goup of international election monitors said ""I am deeply troubled by the undemocratic turn that Egypt's transition has taken."
