Hisham Qandil, who visited a hospital and talked to Palestinian politicians during his three-hour visit, said Israeli "aggression" must stop.Israel struck at more than 130 targets overnight and militants fired 11 rockets from Gaza. At least 18 Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed since Israel began its offensive on Wednesday. The Israeli army began an initial draft of 16,000 reservists on Friday, after the government authorised the call-up of 30,000.

Despite a ceasefire  called during the Egyptian Prime Minister's visit Israel said it launched airstrike's in Gaza due to renewed Hamas rockets being fired into Israel by Hamas. Two landed near Tel Aviv and for the first time one landed near Jerusalem suggesting that Hamas may be using Fajr 5 Iranian made rockets with a range of  75 kms.

An Israeli military spokesman said 550 missiles had been fired into Israel since Wednesday - 184 had been intercepted by its radar-protective system, Iron Dome.The Israelis had hit more than 600 targets in Gaza, the spokesman said,according to AFP.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel would take whatever steps were necessary if Hamas continued to fire rockets into Israel. The Hamas offensive follows the targetted assasination of Hamas's military
commander Ahmed al-Jabari. Troop shave moved to the border with Gaza.

Morocco has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and called on the UN Security Council to put an end to it “in the shortest possible time and without conditions.”
 
Ambassador Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations, Mohamed Loulichki said in a speech at a Security Council meeting held Wednesday that this new aggression “is all the more reprehensible as it could last longer and spread to other parts of the Occupied Palestinian Territory." MAP reported.
 
Algeria has strongly condemned, through Foreign Affairs Ministry’s spokesman Amar Belani, the Israeli aggression against Gaza strip and urged the United Nations Security Council and the international community to assume their responsibilities and put an end to this dangerous escalation.
 
"We strongly condemn the Israeli aggression against Gaza strip and call on the UN Security Council and international community to assume their responsibilities and end, the soonest possible, the dangerous escalation of violence in the region, where the situation is already serious," the FM spokesman said in a statement to APS.
 
Tunisia alsocondemned the attack against Gaza.
