Cairo - Four suspected Egyptian Islamists were killed preparing explosives on Friday, and a teenager was shot dead in clashes between Muslim Brotherhood protesters and police, security officials said.

The blast in a village in the rural Fayoum province came hours after nine people were wounded when a small bomb went off in a train in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
In Cairo, a 15-year-old died of birdshot wounds during clashes between Islamist protesters and police in the poor neighbourhood of Matariya, a day after two people including a policemen were killed in violence.
At least three people were arrested in the protest.
Islamists staged protests on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of the military ousting president Mohamed Morsi.
The small protests were quickly quashed by police.
After July 3 last year, the authorities unleashed a brutal crackdown on Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood movement.
At least 1,400 people, mostly Islamists, have been killed in street clashes since then.
Militants have carried out dozens of bombing and shooting attacks that have killed scores of policemen and soldiers since last year.
The government blames the Muslim Brotherhood, which denies it is violent.
But Friday's blast, on a chicken farm owned by senior Brotherhood member Ahmed Arafa Abdel Qadir, drew further police accusations of Brotherhood involvement in militancy.
An interior ministry statement said police found 39 prepared bombs, electrical circuits and chemicals used to make explosives at the scene of the explosion.
Two of those killed in the early morning blast were Brotherhood members, it said.
The other two corpses were too badly mutilated to identify immediately, and it was not clear whether Abdel Qadir was among them.
The Brotherhood's political arm, the Freedom and Justice party, identified the dead as "supporters" and said the explosion happened after someone hurled a bomb at them, blaming police.
Despite the Brotherhood saying it is committed to peaceful protest, there have been indications that some members have been involved in attacks on security forces during the crackdown.
Most of the deadly attacks on security forces since Morsi's overthrow have been in the restive Sinai Peninsula.
The deadliest have been claimed by militant groups ideologically similar to Al-Qaeda, and which have no proven links to the Brotherhood.
