Stressing that integration yields rapid results, El Alamy argued that Morocco has all it takes to guarantee the continent's takeoff, due to its economic and financial evolutions and readiness to share experience with other African countries.

The minister who was speaking at the closing session of a conference held in the French capital on "Morocco, a possible engine for financial convergence in Africa" also urged for reinforcing the continent's attractiveness for foreign direct investments through stability and predictability.

He also called international firms to pay attention to this market of one billion consumers with a progressing purchasing power, citing, in this context, the example of Morocco which attracts increasing FDIs thanks to quality infrastructure and openness onto the world resulting from over 50 free-trade agreements, in addition to the predictability enjoyed by investors.

Elalamy further underlined that Morocco, which enjoys a strategic geographic location, has opted for consolidating its African calling as a large number of enterprises have become leaders in the continent, particularly in the sectors of insurance, banking and telecoms.
