Ebola: Morocco decided to break quarantine on affected countries by maintaining RAM flights, Diplomat
New York (UN) - Morocco's ambassador to the UN Omar Hilale underlined, Thursday before the UNSC, that by maintaining flights by Moroccan carrier RAM, the Kingdom wanted to break the quarantine imposed on epidemic-stricken countries.

By maintaining flights by the Moroccan airlines company which is still operating flights regularly to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea-Conakry, Morocco decided to break the quarantine imposed on these epidemic-stricken countries.

Concerned by the negative impact of isolating such countries and restrictions imposed on them, Morocco, upon the orders of HM the King, decided to make a gesture of solidarity and break the isolation and quarantine of Ebola-affected countries, said the ambassador at a UNSC debate on the Ebola epidemic in Western Africa.

The UNSC has adopted unanimously a resolution co-sponsored by a record number of 134 member states, including Morocco, to fight the Ebola epidemic which was described as a threat to international peace and security.
