In a release published at the end of the 13th session of the Morocco-UE association Council held in Brussels, the EU council said the 28 countries "confirmed their commitment toward partnership with Morocco which plays a key part within the southern neighborhood".

The release notes that the two parties held an "open" and "constructive" dialog regarding a recent EU court's ruling on the agriculture agreement with Morocco, recalling that the Foreign ministers council decided to lodge an appeal of the ruling.

The two sides also reviewed important issues of common interest in which it cooperates with Morocco, including migration, security and counter-terrorism and exchanged views on several regional issues, including regional integration, Libya, Syria and the Sahel.

The association council met under the co-chairmanship of the EU high representative for foreign policy and security, vice-chairman of the European commission, Federica Mogherini, and Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar.

The European Commission was represented by its commissioner for European neighborhood policy and enlargement negotiations.
