The EU chief-delegate in Morocco Rupert Joy, told Moroccan daily "L'Economiste" that the EU started consulting with Moroccan authorities to adapt its financing opportunities to Morocco's new immigration policy, which includes regularization of some undocumented immigrants and integration of refugees.

"Morocco and the EU are involved in the Mobility Partnership mechanism (since last June) for comprehensive cooperation in migration issues with considerable funds from the EU and the participating member-countries", said the European diplomat.

He added that the EU pledged to bring "institutional support to reinforce the anti-human trafficking policy" and help in the establishment of "a national system of asylum right".

Joy further explained that as part of the Mobility Partnership, Morocco and the EU will launch this year negotiations on "a re-admission agreement" and "facilitation of visa procedures".

The partnership for mobility also features supporting policies geared to help in the socio-economic integration of Moroccan immigrants who return to Morocco in order to encourage productive investments by Moroccans settled abroad and help them create enterprises.

The EU-Morocco mobility partnership establishes a set of political objectives and provides for a series of initiatives designed to ensure effective management of the movement of persons.
