Crown Princess Mary of Denmark visits in Casablanca Likaa association for development

Casablanca - HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, on a visit to Morocco as president of the Mary Foundation, an NGO involved in fighting violence against women, visited, on Wednesday in Casablanca, the headquarters of the Likaa association for development where she met with official from the association which offers support for young people and women in difficult situations.

The visit by Princess Mary crowns 22 years of association action, president of Likaa association Habib Moussaid tod MAP, noting that the Crown Princess takes genuine interest in efforts by the NGO.

The Likaa association organizes for its beneficiaries workshops and trainings on many income-generating activities, mainly embroidery, computer science and management, hotel industry and creation of enterprises, he said.

Denmark's ambassador to Morocco Michael Lund Jeppesen commended, in a statement to the press, cooperation between his country and Morocco, notably under the Danish-Arab initiative program which is funded by the Danish foreign affairs ministry.

The visit by Princess Mary is an occasion to express our support for cooperation projects related to women's empowerment and fighting violence against women, he added.

HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark visited afterwards the facility and was given details on products made by the beneficiaries mainly in the field of embroidery.
