Covid-19: 9 New Confirmed Cases in Morocco, 37 in total, Ministry of Health

Rabat - Nine new confirmed cases of contamination with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) have been reported in Morocco, from the night of Sunday until 9 p.m. on Monday, March 16, bringing to 37 the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom, the Ministry of Health announced. These are cases of infection from abroad, with the exception of one suspected of getting infected by a person from abroad and tested positive for the virus, the ministry said in a statement.

The nine new cases were reported in the cities of Meknes (1), Marrakech (2), Agadir (1), Fez (2), Rabat (2) and Casablanca (1), the same source added. The new cases have been diagnosed by specialized medical staff, following the procedures in force for carrying out analyzes at the national laboratory for influenza and respiratory viruses under the National Institute of Hygiene in Rabat and the Pasteur-Maroc Institute of Casablanca, noted the ministry, adding that all these cases have been provided with medical care in accordance with the sanitary measures in force. The ministry invites citizens to respect the regulations of hygiene and health security and to adhere, in all responsibility and in a spirit of nationalism, to the preventive measures announced by the Moroccan authorities.
