Counterterrorism fight: Morocco well placed to advise NATO countries

Brussels - Morocco has a precious experience in relation with the fight against terrorism and extremism which should be shared with the countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), said, on Friday, Secretary General of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) David Hobbs. 

Morocco is well placed to give NATO member states useful advices regarding the fight against jihadist terrorism and extremism, Hobbs told MAP on the sidelines of a visit by a delegation of Moroccan diplomats to the NATO PA headquarters in Brussels.

The threat of international terrorist networks against world's security and the growing presence of foreigners among ISIS fighters urge close cooperation will all partner countries, including Morocco, he said. 

Hobbs added that NATO member states could draw lessons from the experience of Morocco which succeeded in fighting efficiently and intelligently jihadist terrorism and ideas behind extremism and radicalism.
