"I came to urge Moroccan enterprises to accelerate the pace of their activities in Côte d'Ivoire and to continue diversifying their investments in our country," said President Ouattara in a speech on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the Moroccan-Ivorian economic forum which he co-presided alongside HM King Mohammed VI.

President Ouattara highlighted the economic achievements of his country following the economic crisis, saying his country's economy posted a "strong" growth rate of 9% in 2012.

He expressed optimism regarding the attractiveness of the business environment in his country which, he said, is propitious for Moroccan investments.

President Ouattara also said that his country is well-positioned to help Morocco meet the Royal vision to further reinforce relations with Sub-Saharan Africa.

Côte d'Ivoire can play the role of a gate for Moroccan enterprises wishing to access Sub-Saharan African markets notably in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), he added.

"We consider Moroccan enterprises as a credible and serious partner because they can better integrate in our economic and financial environment," he said.
