Coronavirus: Passenger Health Form at Entry Points To Morocco

Samedi 29 Février 2020

Rabat - A passenger health form has just been introduced at all entry points to the Kingdom, as part of the implementation of the national monitoring plan and the fight against possible introduction to the national territory of the epidemic of the new Coronavirus. The form that travelers to the Kingdom are required to fill out has been elaborated by the Ministry of Health, in coordination with all those involved in the control operation in order to early detect possible cases of coronavirus at the entry points to Morocco.

In a statement to MAP, director of the epidemic and the fight against diseases at the Ministry of Health Mohamed Youbi explained that this measure constitutes a tool to detect possible cases, locate passengers and ensure the saving of listings for possible follow-ups. Youbi considered the form as "a liaison point" between the ministry and the various services in charge of transit points, in order to facilitate coordination and monitoring of the situation. The form will collect information on travelers to Morocco, including the date of arrival, the country of origin, the city of transit, the flight number, the passport number and the passenger's nationality. To deal with the virus, the Ministry of Health has developed a National Monitoring Plan aimed at preventing the introduction into the national territory of the epidemic, early detecting the cases and containing the spread of the epidemic. This plan includes strengthening watch and surveillance activities, the preparation of an infection control system, governance and coordination, as well as launching an information and communication campaign.
