Consulate General of the United States remembers the historic Casablanca Conference 15-31 January 2013

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Anfa conference, the United States Consulate General in Morocco organizes from 15 to 31 January 2013 in Casablanca, cultural days in honor of Mr. James Roosevelt Jr.,grand son of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Organized under the theme "Anfa conference 1943: Perspectives on 70 years of Moroccan-American friendship," the commemoration comes in four events open to the public.


 A conference where renowned speakers will present different perspectives on the Moroccan-American since the Anfa conference.Tuesday, January 15th at 18h in the Library of the Hassan II Mosque.
 

The symposium will be an opportunity for university students to interact with Mr. Roosevelt and two eminent historians on the Moroccan Anfa conference and its contribution to the consolidation of the Moroccan-American relationship.

Wednesday, January 16 at 9 am  Ben Sik Faculty of Arts.
 

"Reflections", a multimedia exhibition for two weeks in collaboration with the Association Casamémoire. It marries, firstly, a collection of photos of architecture inspired by the Casablanca American style, and secondly, a collection of photos, sounds and videos on the Anfa conference from the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, New York.

Thursday, January 17th at 18h  Opening (by invitation)  Jan. 18-31, 10 am to 18h Exhibition: The  Former Abattoirs of Casablanca.
 
Cinema with the film Casablanca, which since its release in 1942, remains one of the best classics of world cinema.
