Chinese Parliamentary Official Calls for Initiatives to Reinforce Bilateral Partnership

Rabat, 07/09/2019 (MAP) - Vice president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Min called for joint initiatives by Morocco and China to give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation. In a meeting, on Friday in Rabat, with the fifth Vice Speaker of the House of Advisors Abdelhamid Souiri in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador, Min expressed his great satisfaction with the quality of relations with the Kingdom at all levels. According to a statement from the upper House of Parliament, the parliamentary official described as "successful" the visit paid by HM King Mohammed VI in 2016 in China, noting that the royal visit laid the bases for a strategic bilateral partnership. China has confidence in Morocco and seeks to broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation to encompass various fields, he said, stressing the role played by Morocco in the region through its strategic vision and geographical position, in addition to its support for the Chinese initiative "Silk Road". Wang Min invited the Speaker of the House of Advisors to visit China. Souiri highlighted the solid relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and China, noting that the historic visit of HM King in May 2016 in China was crowned with the establishment of the strategic partnership in the best interests of both countries and peoples.
