Chile can also be a reference for Morocco in its relations with north America, Riveros told MAP after a meeting with minister delegate for foreign affairs Mbarka Bouaida.

Riveros, who commended the friendship relations between Morocco and Chile, said that the talks touched on means and ways to develop economic and cultural relations between the two sides, as well as elaborate a roadmap with a long-term vision to boost bilateral trade exchanges.

Recalling that Chile is a member of the Pacific Alliance which brings together Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, Riveros said that the meeting discussed also the setting up of a Moroccan-Chilean joint committee involving the different fields.

For her part, Bouaida noted that the talks helped explore new ways to reinforce bilateral cooperation mainly economically and culturally, announcing that the foreign minister will pay a working visit to Chile in 2016.

She also said that the two parties signed an agreement to set the mechanisms necessary for the implementation of a cultural cooperation agreement which was signed few years ago.
