COP22 in Marrakech to be Action-Oriented

Mardi 7 Juin 2016

Copenhagen - The Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22), which will be held in November in Marrakech, will focus on implementing the commitments of the international community, Danish Foreign minister Kristian Jensen said.

"One of the major features of COP22 is to implement the commitments" contained in the Comprehensive Agreement on climate, he told MAP at a press briefing on the sidelines of the 2016 Global Green Growth Forum (3GF), which kicked off Monday in Copenhagen.

For the Danish FM, this year's 3GF is perfectly in line with this logic since it is held under the sign of supporting and stepping up the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the new sustainable development Goals (MDGs) set by the UN.

Initiated by Denmark in 2001, the 3GF platform offers the opportunity to create innovative public-private partnerships to promote green growth at the local and global levels, he pointed out, expressing hope that this type of partnerships will serve as models to be highlighted and promoted in Marrakech.
