Brussels Attacks: One Possible Death, 4 Missing and Several Wounded Among Moroccans, Embassy

Brussels - Following the terrorist attacks that hit on Tuesday Brussels, Morocco's embassy and consulates general in Belgium announced the possible death of one person, in addition to four missing, one seriously injured and several slightly injured Moroccan nationals, said a statement by the Moroccan embassy in Brussels on Thursday.
According to information provided by the victims' families and the networks of the Moroccan community in Belgium, the Moroccan embassy and consulates general listed up to date the possible death of one person, in addition to four missing, one seriously injured individual who was admitted in the Stuivenberg-ZNA hospital in Antwerp and several slightly wounded most of whom left hospitals, it said.

After the March 22 bombing that targeted an airport and a subway station (Maelbeek), the Moroccan embassy in Brussels and the Kingdom's consulates general in Belgium undertook urgent steps with all Belgian bodies concerned to get information about possible victims among Moroccan nationals, it added. 

According to Belgian authorities, the provisional death toll of the Brussels attacks reached on Wednesday 31 dead and around 300 injured.

The statement stressed that the Moroccan embassy and consulates general are working in close collaboration with the different Belgian parties in charge (foreign ministry, crisis center, health ministry and justice ministry) to gather maximum information on Moroccan nationals, knowing that the identification process is a difficult task that takes time.
