Brazilian national arrested in Morocco over cocaine trafficking - Xinhua

RABAT, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan police announced on Saturday the arrest of a Brazilian national at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca for attempted cocaine trafficking.

A total of 950 grams of cocaine, filling 90 pills, was removed from the stomach of a Brazilian national at the Ibn Rochd university hospital center in Casablanca, the police said in a statement.

Suspected of hiding drug in his stomach, the trafficker, aged 26, was arrested at the Casablanca airport upon his arrival onboard a flight from Sao Paulo, the statement said.

He was put under medical surveillance at the hospital center to extract the drug from his stomach, according to the same source.

Morocco seized record 2.84 tons of cocaine in 2017, 1.5 tons more than the amount seized in 2016.
