Boycott of Swedish Companies & Products: Rabat Decides to Get Stockholm Taste of Its own Medicine, Says Spokesperson

Paris - By boycotting Swedish companies and products, Morocco has decided to get Stockholm a taste of its own medicine, Communication Minister, Government Spokesman Mustapha El Khalfi said, deploring the policy of economic exclusion of products originating from the southern provinces of the Kingdom led by this country for years.
"Sweden does more than showing its anti-Moroccan sentiment by seeking to recognize the so-called "RASD", it is campaigning against products originating from our southern provinces and no longer wants to deal with Moroccan and foreign companies working in this part of our territory, in violation of UN decisions that recognize Morocco as the administrative authority of the Sahara", El Khalfi pointed out in an interview published Thursday by the international weekly "Jeune Afrique", recalling that this country rejected in 2013 to renew the fisheries agreement between the Kingdom and the European Union and even sought to rally other countries to its position.

"After campaigning against our tomato quotas, Sweden begins to list all the companies dealing with the Cherifian Office of Phosphates in order to stop any cooperation with it," the minister said, recalling that Moroccan imports from Sweden are seven times greater than exports.

"The Swedes are winning in our trade exchange, but they will lose everything if they maintain their policy of exclusion of our economic fabric and continue to harm our position in the Sahara," he said, calling on the country to review its position.

"We hope they will reconsider their position. I assure you that Morocco will go all the way", he concluded.
