It later reported that the pair were not suspects in the bombing. The New York Post editor said that Salah Eddin's photo was emailed to law enforcement agencies yesterday afternoon seeking information about  him and Yassine Zaime. The editor denied identifying them as suspects".

Salah Eddin visited the police and established his innocence  he said he would not feel safe until the bombers were caught.

Barhoum's father, El Houssein Barhoum, who emigrated to America from Morocco five years ago, said that he and his family did not feel safe."Right now, we are not secure," he said. "So, the news (media), when they put something, they should be sure about the information."

The family is scared to go out and Salah Eddin Barhoum says "It hurts because the person who did it must be happy right now, looking at the people who are getting blamed," he said. "And I'm one of them."
