Bombardier acquires land for its future plant in Casablanca

Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier a major industrial investor in Morocco has now completed the purchase of a plot of land, 10 hectares for the planned factory..The land is located near Nouacer free zone close to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca

The land was acquired by a real estate group specializing in industrial real estate, Midparc Investment SA,acting in parallel management company, reports a Middle Eastern media.

In Morocco, Bombardier will receive a full tax exemption for 5 years, evolving to 8.75% for the next twenty years then  moving permanently to 17.5%. For a total investment of $ 200 million, spread over eight years, Bombardier will employ 850 people by 2020.Bombardier has an eight year investment plan of almost $200 million in equipment, buildings and start-up costs.

It is the world’s third largest aircraft producer, after Boeing and Airbus, and is the only company involved in both aircraft manufacturing and trains.

Attracted by the cheap labour and geographic location of the kingdom which greatly reducing transportation and costs  Bombardier had responded to Morocco's investment pitch  at the Dubai Airshow in 2011,  the kingdom ordered 4 planes for  Canadair  firefighters,  which  convinced the Canadian company  to opt for Morocco, under fierce Turkish competition.
