Belgian deputy PM calls for reinforcing Morocco-EU ties beyond advanced status
Brussels - Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Joëlle Milquet called, on Saturday in Brussels, for fostering EU-Morocco relations that would go beyond the advanced status.

"We must further strengthen the Morocco-EU partnership and build even stronger relations that go beyond the advanced status," said the Belgian Minister at a seminar on relations between Morocco and Europe, noting that advanced status, granted by the EU to Morocco in 2008, is only one step in this direction.
The minister, who noted that Europe has being focusing on the Eastern region and neglected for a long time the other side of the Mediterranean, added that, between Morocco and the EU, there must be a more privileged area for the future at the democratic, political, economic, cultural and geopolitical levels.
