Atlantic coastline heavy swell: no casualties only some material damage, authorities

Rabat - No casualties were suffered following the heavy swell that took place on January 7 in some parts of the Atlantic coastline in Morocco and caused material damage in some cities, authorities said on Tuesday.

The same source said that four people, in Casablanca Anfa, were transferred to the hospital to get the necessary health care.

The first pieces of information show that the slight material damage involves the cities of Casablanca-Anfa, Agadir, Salé, Kénitra, Essaouira, Safi, Skhirat-Témara, Nouaceur, Chtouka Ait Baha, Benslimane, and Bouznika.

Following the heavy swell, watch and monitoring posts were set up under the authority of the concerned Walis and Governors and in the presence of representatives of civil defense, security services, port authorities and technical services.
