Arrival at Oujda-Angad Airport of Third Group of Moroccans Repatriated from Turkey

Oujda-Angad Airport - The operation to repatriate Moroccans stranded abroad due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus continued, on Friday evening, with the arrival at the Oujda-Angad airport of some 312 people, including babies, children and the elderly, coming from Turkey.

These people, who arrived aboard three Royal Air Maroc (RAM) planes, constitute the third group of Moroccans repatriated from Istanbul, and this after the arrival over the past days at Saniat R'mel airport of Tetouan of two other groups, of 313 and 103 people respectively. Three flights were scheduled this Friday with a total of 312 Moroccans on board (104 in the first flight, 105 in the second and 103 in the last), as part of the repatriation operation of Moroccans stranded abroad due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Oujda-Angad airport director Mohcine Benhaddouche told reporters. He said that, since the launch of this operation, the Oujda-Angad airport has received more than 1,200 people from Algeria, Spain and Turkey, adding that the operation takes place in very good conditions and in strict compliance with health standards.

All these operations follow the same health protocol, with virus screening tests on arrival and quarantine for nine days as part of the necessary medical surveillance, the aim being to ensure that these people will not pose a danger for themselves or their families and neighbors. These operations, which follow the speech of Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita at the House of Advisors announcing the start of repatriation, will take place in line with the global strategy set up by Morocco in accordance with the High directives of HM King Mohammed VI.
