Cairo - The Council of the Arab League, which met at the level of foreign ministers, welcomed on Thursday in Cairo the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to defend the Holy City.

At the end of its 156th Ordinary Session, the Council commended the efforts of His Majesty the King to support the resistance of the Palestinian people, while welcoming the pioneering role played in this regard by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency.

Emphasizing the collective Arab and Islamic responsibility towards Al Quds, the Council called on all Arab and Islamic states and organizations, Arab Funds and civil society organizations to provide the necessary funding to implement the projects set out in the Strategic Multi-Sector Development Plan for East Al-Quds (2018-2022), submitted by the State of Palestine with the aim of saving the holy city, protecting its sacred places and strengthening the resistance of its people against Israeli practices aimed at Judaizing the city and displacing its Arab population.

Arab FMs urged all countries to implement the resolutions of the United Nations and the UNESCO Executive Board regarding the Palestinian issue, including the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which stressed that the Holy Mosque Al-Aqsa is an integral part of the world cultural heritage and condemned, in this regard, the attacks targeting it.
