Anti-terrorism: Madrid Says Morocco's cooperation is 'Excellent', 'Necessary'

Madrid - Morocco's cooperation is "necessary" to fight international terrorism, Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz underlined.

Fernandez Diaz, who was Thursday the guest of a talk show of the Spanish television channel TVE, described as "excellent and necessary" Morocco's collaboration with his country in the fight against terrorism, but also in other fields such as the fight against illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

In this regard, the Spanish official called for "preserving" cooperation with the Kingdom in view of the importance of Morocco as a "neighboring and friend" country.

The most important element to move forward in bilateral cooperation is "mutual respect," Fernandez Diaz said, expressing his country's resolve to further consolidate its relations with Morocco.
