During this meeting, Minister Amrani hailed the excellent relations between Morocco and the UK, as evidenced by the ongoing high-level political dialogue, the strengthening of the bilateral partnership, and the continuous increase in the exchanges of visits by officials from both countries. He welcomed, in this sense, all the steps taken since the establishment in 2006 of the Ministerial Dialogue Forum.

The Minister reiterated the commitment of Morocco to bolstering bilateral relations and further developing the multifaceted cooperation between Morocco and the United Kingdom.

Amrani highlighted the major reforms in Morocco launched under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly the consolidation of the rule of law, the promotion of democracy, human development, and fostering the values of good governance.

Touching the Sahara issue, Amrani said Morocco continues to work in good faith to make progress in the political process led by the UN, in accordance with the parameters of the negotiation of the Security Council, namely realism and the spirit of compromise.

The Moroccan official also stressed the importance of enhancing economic and trade ties between Morocco and the UK.

At the regional level, the Minister expressed Morocco's interest in the emergence of a new Maghreb Order marked by cooperation and complementarity.

For his part, the British official recalled that Morocco and the United Kingdom celebrate this year the 800th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. "These relations have been consolidated over the past three years and we feel we need to do more," he said.

The British official highlighted the investment opportunities offered by Morocco on the eve of the G8 Deauville Partnership Investment Conference held in London next week during which Morocco will be represented at the highest level." The conference will be an opportunity to showcase investment opportunities in Morocco," he said.

The United Kingdom, which holds the presidency of the G8 this year, is determined to put more effort to move the Deauville process on, he said.

He welcomed the climate of openness in Morocco which recently marked the dialogue on the issue of migration and welcomed, in this regard, the political will of Morocco to address this issue as well as involvement of civil society.

On the international front, the British minister called on the international community to act decisively and quickly to end the conflict in Syria, welcoming the firm position of Morocco as a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
