Amara and the UK Ambassador to boost the Moroccan-British Business Council
Rabat: The Minister of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, Abdelkader Amara, and the new ambassador to Britain, Clive Alderton, pledged recently in Rabat, to boost the Moroccan-British Business Council to expand bilateral cooperation.

During his meeting with the British ambassador, Amara said that the implementation of the "Emergence" strategy has allowed Morocco to target businesses and to expand its range to various sectors, including chemicals and special chemicals, saying the Kingdom "stands as a competitive industrial base for foreign investors," according to a ministry statement which arrived on Monday at MAP.

The amount of trade between Morocco and Britain had fallen following the financial crisis and is now on an uptrend. In 2011, Moroccan exports to the EU countries amounted to more than 4.41 billion dirhams, while imports totaled nearly $ 7.2 billion.
