Algeria, guest of honour at the 28th Literary Comedy Book Festival of Montpellier

Algiers: Algeria will be the guest of honor at the 28th Literary Comedy Book Festival of Montpellier (southern France) from 7 to 9 June, where it will be represented by many artists and writers, organisers announced.

Algeria is guest of honour at the 28th Literary Comedy Book Festival of Montpellier where

two hundred men and women of letters including essayists, novelists, poets, novelists, artists and academics ,will host this event marked by the participation of nearly fifty authors including,for the most part Maghrebian and Algerian writers.

 

Algerian writers take part in round tables, debates, literary cafés, conferences, among others.

 

Boualem Sansal Yahia Belaskri Abdelkader Djemaï, Waciny Laredj, Yasmina Khadra, Ahlem Mosteghanemi Amine Zaoui, Salim Bachi, Amara Lakhous Anwar Benmalek, Maïssa Bey, Malika Mokaddem, Leila Sebbar, poets and Samira Habib Tengour Negrouche well as Academician Mourad Yelles and essayist Malek Chebel should be present at the festival.

 

Algerian cartoonists are also scheduled at this literary event. A dozen of them took part in February the 40th International Festival of comics in Angoulême (France).

 

For his part, Rachid Koraïchi, designer of the poster for the festival, will present his work at the festival in an exhibition scheduled from 6 to 11 June at the Galerie Saint Ravy.


Distinguished by international awards, Koraïchi who lives between Tunisia and France, exhibited in the largest gallery in the world.

 

Founded in 1985, the Comedy Book Festival is organised by the city of Montpellier and the Association Heart of the Book.

 

Each year, it honours a different country to present its history and literary news, according to organisers.
