Akémi Noguchi: Guest of Honour Cultural Spring Musée de la Palmeraie of Marrakech

Born in 1946 in Osaka, after his studies at the School of Fine Art in Osaka, he began to exhibit his works in Japan and then at the age of 26 he travelled from Europe and Morocco . He taught for three years in the visual arts section at Kinki-Osaka University, before finally settling in France.

During his stay in France he was particularly interested in the technique of engraving. Which led him from 1976 to 1980 to attend the "Workshop 17" to Paris where he met Heyter SW, from whom he learned the art of engraving on copper. It was after this period of learning that Akémi Noguchi decided to settle in France.

 

Akémi Noguchi uses several techniques such as etching, oil painting, tempera and sculpture.

 

His work is now in many private and public collections in Japan, Europe and Morocco.

 

The works on display at the Spring Cultural Musée de la Palmeraie, Contemporary Art & Nature are part of the series CLOUDS created by the etching technique called "Way Black".

 

The opening of the Exhibition Will be held at the Musée de la Palmeraie Friday, April 26 at 18h 30.
