Abdelouahab Rahim, president of the National Union of investors: "It is imperative to free investment"

"Today, it is imperative to release the investment at the national level to promote and strengthen the participation of enterprises in economic and social development of Algeria," he said during a press conference after obtaining the approval of the union.
 
Mr. Rahim emphasized the importance of supporting investors from different administrative institutions, economic and social processes that tend to their realization of investments, citing bureaucratic delays. "The process as designed is not made to encourage the investor, but to deter," he said, stressing the simplification of administrative procedures and the reform of the Algerian administration. The involvement of investors in the draft texts of a legislative and regulatory framework is, according to the president of the UNI, a prerequisite for the success of the policy of promoting investment in Algeria. He advocated, in this sense, the involvement of the Algerian diaspora in using their skills and expertise.
 
The President of the UNI pleaded also for the "liberalisation" of all sectors to build, he said, "a dynamic investment needed to create wealth and employment." "To have employment positions, we must encourage productive investment," he added. He, therefore, suggested the creation of databases legal, economic, social and fiscal potential investors and the completion of all studies and procedures to facilitate the realisation of investments. Rahim says, UNI is an organization that aims to promote the image of Algeria in the world, investors organize nationally, create investment opportunities and encourage partnership in presenting itself as a natural partner investors.
 
The association has also the essential purpose, he said, to develop a lobbying towards national and international investors and decision centers.
