Abdelkader Bensalah acclaimed Acting SG RND

This comes after the effective plebiscite proposal by Mohamed Cherif Abbas, a member of the National Council of RND, who presided as the elder at the opening session.
 
In his speech, Mohamed Cherif Abbas Said Effective consultation between the members of the National Council, it was agreed to elect Mr Bensalah Acting Secretary General to hold the next RND congress.
 
After being elected Bensalah called for "effective participation on the ground in order to unify the ranks, to overcome the difficulty situation in the party and improve its image."
 
As one of the founders of the RND, Mr Bensalah served as secretary general of the party  on its establishment 21 February 1997.
 
The work of the two-day plenary session was in the presence of the majority of mebers of the council. This session was mainly devoted to the consideration of several organic issues.
 
The secretary general of RND, Ahmed Ouyahia was absent from the meeting,  He filed his resignation in early January due to disagreements within the party ranks.
