300 Girls from 140 Countries in Rabat to Make Recommendations to UN Sustainable Development Summit
Rabat - Some 300 girls representing 140 countries gathered, this weekend in Rabat, as part of the 2nd Youth Convention to make recommendations to the 2015 United Nation Sustainable Development Summit.

"At the end of their conclave, the girls of the world will address concrete recommendations to the UN Sustainable Development Summit for the adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda, slated for September 25-26 in New York", Executive Director of the National Observatory of Child Rights (ONDE), Mustapha Daniel, told MAP on the sidelines of the opening of the 2nd Youth Convention, initiated by ONDE in partnership with the United Nations under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

"Today, the girls should have self-confidence, raise their voices, have their opinions heard and think together on critical issues so as to act as a lever for sustainable development," Daniel said, stressing that this 2nd Convention, chaired by HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, is a continuation of a process that started by holding the 1-st Youth Convention in Tangier in 2013.
