2015 Carthage Film Festival: Morocco's 'The Blind Band' Wins Golden Tanit
Tunis - Moroccan movie "The Blind Band" by Mohamed Mouftakir won the Golden Tanit of the 2015 Carthage Film Festival, which wrapped up Saturday evening in Tunis.
Winner of several international awards, the second feature film of the young director, which was well received by critics, tells the story of a popular band whose musicians sometimes pretend to be blind to entrain at parties reserved for women.
"The Endless River" of South African Oliver Hermanus won the Silver Tanit, while the Bronze Tanit was awarded to Tunisian Leyla Bouzid for "As I open my eyes".
The Jury award, chaired by Moroccan Noureddine Sail, was awarded to "Much Loved" by Nabil Ayouch.
